About Vital Glow

Do I need to know exactly what service I want before booking?

No. Many of our patients aren't sure which treatment is right for them when they first contact Vital Glow.
During your consultation, we'll take the time to understand your goals, health history, symptoms, and concerns before recommending a personalized treatment plan. Whether you're interested in Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Medical Weight Loss, Hair Restoration, Erectile Dysfunction treatment, aesthetic treatments, or wellness care, we'll help you determine the best path forward.

Are men welcome for aesthetic services too?

Absolutely.
While many people know Vital Glow for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) and men's wellness, we proudly provide aesthetic treatments for both men and women.
Many of our male patients receive wrinkle relaxers, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and anti-aging treatments alongside hormone care and wellness care. Every treatment plan is customized to your goals and designed to deliver natural-looking results.

Is Vital Glow a medical spa or a wellness clinic?

We're both—and that's what sets Vital Glow apart.
Unlike traditional medical spas that focus primarily on aesthetics or wellness clinics that focus only on medical care, Vital Glow brings both together under one roof. We combine hormone care, Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Medical Weight Loss, Hair Restoration, Erectile Dysfunction treatment, comprehensive laboratory testing, and advanced aesthetic services into one personalized, provider-led experience.
Our patients appreciate having one trusted provider who can help them improve their health, confidence, and overall well-being through coordinated care designed specifically for them.

Do you offer customized treatment plans?

Yes.
Every patient receives an individualized treatment plan based on their medical history, laboratory results (when appropriate), lifestyle, and personal goals.
At Vital Glow, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellness or aesthetics. We take time to understand the whole person before making recommendations, allowing us to provide thoughtful, personalized care focused on long-term results.

What Happens During My First Consultation?
Your first visit is designed to be relaxed, informative, and pressure-free.
You'll meet one-on-one with an experienced provider to discuss your concerns, health history, goals, and treatment options. If appropriate, we may recommend comprehensive laboratory testing to better understand your health before developing your personalized treatment plan.
Our goal is to ensure you leave your consultation feeling informed, confident, and comfortable with your next steps.
Do You Accept Insurance?
Vital Glow operates as a private-pay practice.

This allows us to spend more time with each patient, provide highly personalized care, and recommend treatments based on your individual needs rather than insurance limitations.

To help make treatment more accessible, we also accept CareCredit and Cherry financing for many eligible services. During your consultation, we'll review your treatment options, discuss pricing, and help you choose a payment solution that works best for you.

Our goal is to make exceptional provider-led care both personalized and accessible.
How Soon Will I See Results?

Results vary depending on the treatment you receive.
Some aesthetic treatments provide noticeable improvements almost immediately, while services such as hormone care, Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Medical Weight Loss, and Hair Restoration develop gradually over several weeks or months.
During your consultation, we'll discuss realistic expectations and create a plan designed around your goals.

Are Your Treatments Safe?

Patient safety is a priority at Vital Glow.
Vital Glow was founded by Candace Danbury, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC. Medical treatments are provider-led, while esthetic services are performed by appropriately licensed team members within their scope of practice.
When appropriate, comprehensive laboratory testing may also be used to help guide medical treatment and monitoring.

Anti-Aging Treatments

Will I look unnatural or “overdone”?

Not at Vital Glow. Our philosophy is to enhance your natural appearance, not change it. Every treatment is planned conservatively to help you look refreshed, rested, and confident while preserving your facial features and natural expression.

How do I know which anti-aging treatment is right for me?

You do not need to know before you book. At your private consultation, we review your goals, facial anatomy, skin quality, comfort level, and timeline. Some patients benefit most from wrinkle relaxers such as Xeomin, while others may need dermal filler, RF microneedling, Cellenis Derma PRP, NOUVADerm laser resurfacing, Candela laser rejuvenation, or ongoing skin-maintenance services.

Is RF microneedling the same as regular microneedling?

No. Traditional aesthetic microneedling is generally a more superficial skin-refresh service. RF microneedling is a deeper clinical treatment that uses tiny needles plus radiofrequency energy to support collagen remodeling, firmness, texture improvement, pores, acne scars, and mild skin laxity. At Vital Glow, RF microneedling is performed by a trained nurse or clinical provider, not as a basic spa microneedling service.

What is NOUVADerm laser skin resurfacing used for?

NOUVADerm is a fractional 1927nm thulium laser option that may be recommended for concerns such as sun damage, unwanted pigmentation, uneven tone, rough texture, dull skin, fine lines, and acne scars. We evaluate your skin and goals before recommending laser resurfacing.

Can the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus be used for skin rejuvenation?

Yes, when appropriate. While many patients know Candela GentleMax Pro Plus for laser hair removal, this advanced laser platform may also support selected skin-rejuvenation goals such as unwanted pigmentation, visible redness, facial vessels, and signs of photoaging. We will recommend it only when it fits your skin type and treatment goals.

What is the difference between Botox, Xeomin, filler, and RF microneedling?

Botox and Xeomin are both wrinkle relaxers that soften expression lines caused by repeated muscle movement. Vital Glow uses Xeomin for wrinkle-relaxer treatments. Dermal fillers restore volume or improve facial balance. RF microneedling supports collagen remodeling and skin firmness. These treatments solve different problems and may be combined when appropriate.

Can I combine wrinkle relaxers, filler, PRP, RF microneedling, and laser treatments?

Often, yes. Many patients get their best results from a staged plan rather than one treatment. We may recommend combining injectables with Cellenis Derma PRP, RF microneedling, laser resurfacing, laser rejuvenation, or skin-maintenance services depending on your goals and your skin’s needs.

Is there downtime after anti-aging treatments?

Downtime depends on the treatment. Wrinkle relaxers such as Xeomin usually involve little to no downtime. Fillers may cause temporary swelling or bruising. RF microneedling, Cellenis Derma PRP, chemical peels, and laser treatments may involve redness, sensitivity, peeling, or a short recovery period depending on the intensity of treatment.

How long do anti-aging results last?

How long results last depends on the treatment, treatment area, dose or product used, treatment plan, and individual response. Wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers are temporary, while RF microneedling, Cellenis Derma PRP, and laser treatments may produce changes that develop gradually. Your provider will explain realistic timing and whether maintenance may make sense for your plan.

What is the difference between Botox® and Xeomin®?

Botox® and Xeomin® are both neuromodulators used to soften expression lines such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Vital Glow uses Xeomin®, a streamlined formulation without the additional accessory proteins found in some other wrinkle relaxers. Treatment is customized to preserve natural movement and expression.

Are anti-aging treatments only for women?

No. Men also choose wrinkle relaxers, RF microneedling, Cellenis Derma PRP, laser rejuvenation, and skin treatments to look healthier, more rested, and more confident. Our approach to men’s aesthetics is conservative and designed to preserve masculine features and natural expression.

Can lip fillers look natural?

Yes. When performed thoughtfully, lip filler can enhance shape, restore lost volume, and improve facial balance while maintaining a soft, natural appearance. We use a conservative approach and tailor recommendations to your anatomy and goals.

Do you offer cosmetic masseter slimming?

Yes. Vital Glow offers cosmetic masseter slimming for patients interested in lower-face slimming, facial contouring, or a softer jawline appearance. This service is cosmetic only and is not offered for TMJ, bruxism, jaw pain, headaches, or dental treatment.

Do I need a separate consultation before anti-aging treatment?

For anti-aging services such as injectables, RF microneedling, Cellenis Derma PRP, and laser-based skin rejuvenation, we use a private consultation to review your goals, medical history, facial anatomy, skin quality, and treatment options before care. If it is appropriate and safe, some treatments may be performed the same day; more advanced or staged plans may require a separate treatment appointment.

Wrinkle Relaxers

What are wrinkle relaxers?

Wrinkle relaxers are injectable neuromodulators used to temporarily soften dynamic expression lines caused by repeated facial movement. Botox Cosmetic and Xeomin are two well-known products in this category. At Vital Glow, we use Xeomin® for wrinkle-relaxer treatments.

What is the difference between Botox and Xeomin?

Botox and Xeomin work in similar ways to relax targeted muscles and soften expression lines, but their formulations differ. Xeomin has a streamlined formulation without the additional accessory proteins found in some other wrinkle relaxers. Vital Glow uses Xeomin for our wrinkle-relaxer treatments.

Will wrinkle relaxers make me look frozen?

Not when treatment is planned carefully. At Vital Glow, the goal is natural-looking improvement, not a frozen or overdone appearance. We use a conservative, personalized approach based on your facial movement, anatomy, and goals.

What areas can wrinkle relaxers treat?

Xeomin is commonly used to soften forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet around the eyes. It may also be used as part of a broader aesthetic plan when appropriate.

How long does it take to see results?

Results develop gradually. Some patients notice changes within several days, with the full effect typically becoming more visible around one to two weeks after treatment.

How long do wrinkle-relaxer results last?

Results are temporary and vary from person to person. Many patients maintain results with treatments every few months, but your provider can recommend a schedule based on your response and goals.

Is there downtime after wrinkle-relaxer treatment?

Most patients return to normal daily activities quickly. Your provider will review aftercare instructions and any activity restrictions during your appointment.

Can men get wrinkle relaxers?

Yes. Many men choose wrinkle relaxers to soften deep expression lines, reduce a tired or tense appearance, and maintain a refreshed look while preserving natural masculine expression.

Can wrinkle relaxers be combined with other treatments?

Yes, when appropriate. Wrinkle relaxers may be combined with fillers, PRP, laser treatments, RF microneedling, facials, peels, or skincare as part of a broader anti-aging or skin-rejuvenation plan.

Can wrinkle relaxers help with facial slimming?

Wrinkle relaxers may be used cosmetically in the masseter area for facial slimming or jawline slimming in appropriate patients. Vital Glow has a separate cosmetic masseter slimming page with more detail.

Do you offer wrinkle relaxers near Columbia, Irmo, and Lexington?

Yes. Vital Glow provides Xeomin wrinkle-relaxer treatments for patients from Columbia, Irmo, Lexington, Chapin, Lake Murray, Ballentine, and surrounding Midlands communities.

Candela GentleMax Pro Plus Laser

What is the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus?

GentleMax Pro Plus is a professional medical laser platform that combines a 755nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. It is used for permanent hair reduction and a range of selected pigmented, vascular, wrinkle, and clear-nail applications.

What is the difference between the two wavelengths?

The 755nm Alexandrite wavelength has strong melanin absorption and is commonly used for lighter skin types and appropriate hair or pigmented targets. The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and is commonly selected for darker skin types, deeper vascular targets, and clear-nail applications.

Is GentleMax Pro Plus only for laser hair removal?

No. Hair reduction is its best-known application, but Candela also lists cleared uses involving benign pigmented lesions, diffuse redness and facial vessels, spider and leg veins, wrinkles, vascular lesions, pseudofolliculitis barbae, and a temporary increase in clear nail for patients with onychomycosis.

Can Candela laser hair removal treat every skin tone?

The dual-wavelength platform gives providers options across the full spectrum of skin types. Individual candidacy still depends on skin tone, recent tanning, hair characteristics, medications, treatment area, and risk factors.

How many laser hair-removal treatments will I need?

Multiple treatments are required because hair grows in cycles. Many plans involve approximately four to six or more sessions, often spaced four to eight weeks apart depending on the area and growth cycle. Your provider will recommend an individualized schedule.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

The FDA-cleared language is permanent hair reduction. This means a stable, long-term reduction in the number of hairs, not a guarantee that every hair will be eliminated forever. Maintenance may be helpful over time.

Does GentleMax Pro Plus treatment hurt?

Sensation varies by area and settings. Patients often describe brief warmth or a snapping feeling. Candela’s Dynamic Cooling Device delivers a cooling burst immediately before the laser pulse to help protect the skin and improve comfort.

What is the Dynamic Cooling Device?

DCD™ is Candela’s integrated cryogen cooling system. It sprays the skin milliseconds before the laser pulse to cool and protect the epidermis while the laser energy reaches the intended target.

Can the Candela laser treat razor bumps and ingrown hairs?

It may help appropriate patients by reducing the hairs that contribute to pseudofolliculitis barbae, recurring razor bumps, and ingrown hairs. A consultation is needed to confirm the cause and select the safest wavelength and settings.

Can it treat sun spots or age spots?

Selected benign pigmented lesions, freckles, sun spots, and age spots may be appropriate. The provider must first confirm that the lesion is suitable for cosmetic laser treatment. Suspicious or changing lesions require medical evaluation.

Can it treat redness or visible facial vessels?

Selected diffuse redness, facial vessels, telangiectasia, angiomas, and rosacea-related redness may be treated when appropriate. Results depend on the vessel, skin type, location, and treatment plan.

Can it treat spider or leg veins?

The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength may be used for selected spider and leg veins. Larger, painful, symptomatic, or medically significant veins may require evaluation by a vascular specialist instead.

Does the laser cure toenail fungus?

No cure is guaranteed. The cleared indication is a temporary increase in clear nail in patients with onychomycosis. Improvement is visible only as new nail grows forward, and recurrence is possible.

How should I prepare for laser treatment?

Avoid tanning and sunburn, disclose medications and recent procedures, and follow the service-specific instructions. For hair reduction, avoid waxing, plucking, and electrolysis before treatment and shave as directed. Arrive with clean skin free of lotion, deodorant, makeup, and self-tanner unless instructed otherwise.

What should I expect after treatment?

Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity, darkening of pigment, bruising, or other short-term changes may occur depending on the treatment. Follow the provided aftercare and contact Vital Glow if you develop an unexpected or concerning reaction.

Do I need a consultation?

Yes. The same device can produce very different effects depending on the wavelength and settings. A consultation confirms candidacy, identifies the correct treatment target, discusses alternatives, and establishes realistic expectations.

Cellenis Derma PRP

What is Cellenis Derma PRP?

Cellenis Derma PRP is an autologous injectable treatment prepared from your own blood. Platelet-rich plasma and selected plasma proteins are processed into a soft gel-like material intended to provide temporary support while encouraging a gradual regenerative response in the treated tissue.

Is Cellenis Derma PRP the same as dermal filler?

No. It is not the same as a conventional hyaluronic-acid dermal filler. Both may be used to support selected areas, but they differ in composition, handling, precision, firmness, predictability, and duration. Your provider will explain which approach better fits your anatomy and goals.

Is Cellenis Derma PRP the same as EZ Gel or PRF EZ Gel?

They are similar blood-derived injectable treatments, but they use different preparation systems. EZ Gel is commonly prepared from platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), while Cellenis Derma PRP uses the Cellenis platelet-rich plasma system. Both are used for subtle support and gradual skin rejuvenation. Your provider can explain which approach best fits the treatment area and the type of result you want.

What areas can be treated?

Depending on anatomy and provider assessment, treatment may be considered for the under-eye area, temples, cheeks, smile lines, marionette lines, lip lines, jawline, neck, décolletage, or hands. Not every area is appropriate for every patient.

Can it help under-eye hollowness or dark circles?

It may be considered for selected patients with under-eye hollowness, thin-looking skin, or a tired appearance. Dark circles can have several causes, and not all respond to volume or PRP-based treatment. Careful assessment is especially important in this area.

How is Cellenis Derma PRP prepared?

A small blood sample is drawn and processed using the Cellenis PRP system. Platelet-rich components and plasma proteins are separated and prepared into an injectable gel-like material during the appointment.

When will I see results?

Some patients may notice early fullness from the gel, but swelling can temporarily affect the appearance. Changes associated with collagen and skin quality develop more gradually over the following weeks and months. Results and timing vary.

How long do results last?

There is no single guaranteed duration. The visible effect depends on the treatment area, amount placed, skin condition, metabolism, health, technique, and individual response. Your provider will discuss a realistic range for your specific plan rather than promising a fixed timeline.

How much downtime should I expect?

Temporary swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness, firmness, or small areas of unevenness may occur after treatment. Recovery varies by area and person. Your provider will give you specific instructions and help you plan around work, travel, exercise, and important events.

Is there a risk of an allergic reaction?

Because the treatment material is prepared from your own blood, it does not introduce a premanufactured hyaluronic-acid filler product. That does not make the procedure risk-free. Blood draw, processing, and injection can still involve side effects or complications, which your provider will review before treatment.

Who may not be a good candidate?

Cellenis Derma PRP is not appropriate for everyone. Active infection, certain blood or platelet disorders, some medical conditions, medications that affect bleeding or healing, pregnancy or breastfeeding considerations, and unrealistic expectations may change the recommendation. Your provider will review your history before treatment.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes, when clinically appropriate and properly timed. It may be staged with wrinkle relaxers, laser resurfacing, microneedling, professional skincare, or other injectable treatments. Your provider will create a safe sequence rather than combining procedures automatically.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your first visit includes a private consultation, facial and skin assessment, review of your health and treatment history, discussion of alternatives, and a realistic explanation of the process, recovery, and expected outcome. Treatment may be scheduled separately depending on the plan.

Comprehensive Lab Testing

What is comprehensive lab testing?

Comprehensive lab testing uses blood work and selected biomarkers to evaluate patterns that may affect energy, hormones, metabolism, weight, libido, hair, skin, mood, and overall wellness. At Vital Glow, the goal is not just to collect numbers. It is to understand how those results fit your symptoms, health history, and treatment goals.

How is Vital Glow different from a walk-in lab?

Walk-in labs can be helpful when you already know exactly what test you need. Vital Glow is different because testing is connected to a provider-led consultation, result interpretation, and personalized care plan. We help you understand what the results may mean and how they may guide treatment decisions.

Do I need lab testing before starting treatment?

Not every service requires labs, but many medical wellness services do or strongly benefit from them. Labs may be recommended before or during TRT, HRT, medical weight loss, sexual wellness care, hair restoration, or wellness support when results would help guide safe, personalized care.

What labs may be included in a comprehensive panel?

Every panel is personalized, but testing may include hormone markers, thyroid function, blood sugar, A1C, insulin-related markers, cholesterol, CBC, CMP, liver and kidney markers, vitamin D, B12, iron, ferritin, inflammation markers, PSA when appropriate, and other wellness indicators based on your needs.

Can lab testing help with fatigue or low energy?

Yes. Fatigue can have many contributors, including hormone changes, thyroid concerns, anemia or iron issues, vitamin deficiencies, blood sugar changes, inflammation, poor recovery, sleep issues, stress, and other health factors. Lab testing can help narrow the conversation and guide next steps.

Can lab testing help with weight loss?

Yes. Lab testing may provide insight into metabolic health, blood sugar, A1C, cholesterol, thyroid function, hormones, liver and kidney markers, and other factors that can influence weight loss planning. These results may help guide medical weight loss recommendations and monitoring.

Can labs help with low testosterone or men’s health?

Yes. Men’s lab testing may include total testosterone, free testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, CBC, CMP, PSA when appropriate, lipids, A1C, and other markers. These results can help guide TRT evaluation, libido concerns, energy changes, ED concerns, muscle-building difficulty, and safety monitoring.

Can labs help with perimenopause, menopause, or women’s hormones?

Yes. Lab testing may help evaluate hormone patterns, thyroid function, nutrient status, metabolic health, and other factors that can affect energy, mood, weight, sleep, libido, hair, and skin. These results may support women’s HRT planning when appropriate.

Can labs help with erectile dysfunction or low libido?

Yes. ED and low libido can be influenced by hormones, blood sugar, cardiovascular risk factors, medication effects, stress, sleep, and overall health. Lab testing may help identify contributing patterns and guide sexual wellness care when appropriate.

Can labs help with hair thinning or hair restoration?

Yes. Hair thinning may be influenced by hormones, thyroid function, iron or ferritin levels, vitamin status, stress, medications, inflammation, and other factors. Lab testing may help guide hair restoration planning and identify issues that should be addressed alongside scalp-focused treatment.

Will someone explain my lab results?

Yes. Vital Glow reviews your results with you in clear, practical language. We explain what your results may suggest, what needs follow-up, what may be monitored, and how the information connects to your symptoms and goals.

How long does it take to get lab results?

Many routine lab results are available within several business days, although timing can vary depending on the specific tests ordered and the lab processing the sample. We will review expected timing with you during the process.

Can I request lab testing if I do not know what is wrong?

Yes. Many patients come to us because they know they do not feel their best but are not sure why. A consultation helps determine whether lab testing is appropriate and which markers may be most useful based on your symptoms and goals.

Is lab testing only for people with symptoms?

No. Labs can also be useful for preventive wellness, baseline tracking, hormone monitoring, weight loss monitoring, and checking safety markers during treatment. The right timing depends on your goals and health history.

Do you use labs to monitor ongoing care?

Yes, when appropriate. Follow-up labs may be used to monitor safety, treatment response, hormone levels, metabolic markers, and other relevant health indicators. This is especially important for hormone therapy, weight loss programs, and long-term wellness plans.

Where can I get comprehensive lab testing near Columbia or Irmo, SC?

Vital Glow Men's & Women's Health offers comprehensive lab testing consultations in Columbia, SC, serving patients from Irmo, Lexington, Lake Murray, Chapin, Ballentine, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Blythewood, and surrounding Midlands communities.

Cosmetic Facial & Jawline Slimming

What is cosmetic masseter slimming?

Cosmetic masseter slimming is an aesthetic treatment that uses neuromodulator injections to relax the masseter muscles along the jaw. Over time, this may help soften the appearance of a square or wide lower face and create a slimmer, more balanced jawline.

Is masseter slimming the same as Masseter Botox?

Many people search for this treatment as Masseter Botox, jawline slimming, facial slimming injections, or lower-face contouring. Botox is one brand name of neuromodulator. During your consultation, your provider will discuss the product and approach that may be appropriate for your goals.

Is cosmetic masseter slimming the same as TMJ treatment?

No. Cosmetic masseter slimming is not the same as TMJ treatment. At Vital Glow, this service is offered for aesthetic facial contouring only. We do not advertise, diagnose, or provide this service as treatment for TMJ, bruxism, jaw pain, headaches, bite concerns, or any dental or medical condition. Cosmetic masseter injections are an off-label aesthetic use of botulinum toxin products.

Can I schedule a consultation if I have TMJ, bruxism, or jaw tension?

Yes, as long as the purpose of the consultation is cosmetic facial contouring. If you have TMJ symptoms, bruxism, jaw tension, bite concerns, headaches, or jaw pain, those concerns should continue to be managed by your dentist, physician, or appropriate specialist. Vital Glow's role is cosmetic only.

How does cosmetic masseter slimming work?

The masseter muscles help with chewing and sit along the sides of the jaw. When neuromodulator is placed into the masseter muscles for cosmetic contouring, the muscles gradually relax. Over time, this may reduce the appearance of lower-face width caused by prominent masseter muscles.

Who is a good candidate for cosmetic masseter slimming?

A good candidate may have a wider, square, or heavier lower-face appearance caused by prominent masseter muscles and want subtle, non-surgical facial slimming. A consultation is needed to evaluate your anatomy, goals, medical history, and expectations.

Who may not be a good candidate?

Masseter slimming may not be ideal if your lower-face fullness is primarily caused by bone structure, skin laxity, facial fat distribution, salivary gland fullness, or another concern. It may also not be appropriate for patients with certain medical histories, unrealistic expectations, or concerns better handled by a dentist, physician, or specialist.

How long does it take to see masseter slimming results?

Results develop gradually. Some patients begin noticing changes within several weeks, with more visible lower-face contouring developing over time as the masseter muscles relax. Results vary based on anatomy, product used, dose, muscle size, and individual response.

How long do masseter slimming results last?

Results are temporary. Maintenance timing varies depending on your anatomy, treatment plan, product used, dosing, and how your body responds. Your provider will discuss realistic maintenance expectations during your consultation.

Is there downtime after cosmetic masseter slimming?

Most patients return to normal activities shortly after treatment. You may receive aftercare instructions such as avoiding rubbing the treated area, avoiding strenuous exercise for a short period, and following any provider-specific guidance.

Can masseter slimming affect my smile or chewing?

Because the masseter muscles are involved in chewing and lower-face movement, proper assessment, dosing, and placement matter. Possible side effects can include temporary tenderness, bruising, chewing fatigue, asymmetry, or unwanted effects on nearby muscles. Your provider will review risks before treatment.

Will masseter slimming make my face look too thin or overdone?

The goal at Vital Glow is natural-looking lower-face refinement, not an overdone or hollow appearance. A conservative approach helps protect your natural facial balance while targeting the areas that are appropriate for treatment.

Can men get cosmetic masseter slimming?

Yes. Men may choose cosmetic masseter slimming if they want a softer, slimmer, or more balanced lower-face appearance. Treatment planning is individualized so results fit the patient's facial structure and goals.

Is cosmetic masseter slimming surgical?

No. Cosmetic masseter slimming is non-surgical. It does not require incisions, anesthesia, or surgical recovery. It uses carefully placed neuromodulator injections for gradual lower-face contouring when appropriate.

How many units are needed for masseter slimming?

The number of units varies based on your anatomy, masseter muscle size, goals, product used, and provider recommendation. Vital Glow does not use one fixed dose for every patient. Your provider will discuss an individualized plan during your consultation.

Can masseter slimming be combined with other aesthetic treatments?

Yes, when appropriate. Some patients combine cosmetic masseter slimming with wrinkle relaxers, skin rejuvenation, facials, or other aesthetic treatments for broader facial balance. Your provider can discuss options during your consultation. You can also review our Botox and Xeomin education page and anti-aging services.

Where can I learn about cosmetic masseter slimming near Columbia or Irmo, SC?

Vital Glow Men's & Women's Health offers cosmetic masseter slimming education and consultations in Columbia, SC, serving patients from Irmo, Lexington, Lake Murray, Chapin, Ballentine, West Columbia, Cayce, and the surrounding Midlands.

Yes. Dermaplaning is available for patients who want smoother-feeling skin, removal of surface buildup, and reduction of fine facial hair. It may be performed alone or paired with selected facial treatments when appropriate for your skin.

What is the difference between AquaFirme XS and a customized facial?

Your esthetician can recommend the better fit or combine approaches when appropriate.

Do you offer chemical peels?

Yes. Vital Glow offers professional chemical peel options for selected skin concerns, including dullness, congestion, uneven texture, acne-prone skin, uneven tone, and visible signs of aging. Your esthetician will review your skin before recommending a peel strength or timing.

Can I combine a facial with dermaplaning or a chemical peel?

Do you offer microdermabrasion?

Yes. Vital Glow offers microdermabrasion for patients interested in exfoliation and smoother-looking skin texture. Your esthetician will determine whether it is appropriate for your skin type, sensitivity, and goals.

Do you offer waxing services?

Yes. Vital Glow offers professional face and body waxing for patients who want smoother skin and clean grooming with attention to comfort and skin sensitivity.

Do you offer microneedling in Columbia, SC?

Yes. Vital Glow may offer microneedling for patients interested in improving the appearance of texture, fine lines, acne scars, pores, and overall skin quality. Your provider will review your skin, goals, timing, and treatment history before treatment to help determine whether microneedling is appropriate for your skin.

What are PRP skin treatments?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, uses components prepared from your own blood as part of a provider-guided skin rejuvenation plan. Vital Glow may offer Cellenis Derma PRP when appropriate for patients interested in natural-looking skin support.

What are VAMP PDRN or EXO|E skin boosters?

VAMP PDRN and EXO|E may be used as provider-recommended skin boosters or post-treatment support after selected skin rejuvenation treatments. Your provider will explain whether either option is appropriate for your skin, goals, and treatment plan.

Do you offer facials for men in Columbia, SC?

Yes. Vital Glow offers men’s facials, AquaFirme XS or hydrodermabrasion, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning when appropriate, waxing, and simple skin care guidance for men who want clearer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.

Are day spa services safe for sensitive skin?

Many esthetic services can be customized for sensitive skin. During your appointment, your esthetician will discuss your concerns, evaluate your skin type, and recommend products or treatments that are appropriate for your skin barrier and comfort level.

How often should I get a facial?

The right schedule depends on your skin, goals, budget, and treatment type. Many patients choose routine facials every four to six weeks, while others come in before events or when they need targeted support. Your esthetician can recommend a realistic plan.

Do you sell or recommend professional skin care products?

Yes. Vital Glow can guide you toward professional skin care products that support your goals at home. Ask about Circadia product recommendations or shop through Vital Glow's Circadia storefront.

What is the difference between a medical spa and a regular day spa?

A traditional day spa usually focuses on relaxation and basic esthetic services. A medical spa combines esthetic services with access to provider-led aesthetic expertise and advanced treatment options. At Vital Glow, your plan can include day spa services, skin rejuvenation, and wellness care when appropriate.

Do I need a separate consultation before booking an esthetic service?

No separate consultation is required for most esthetic services. You can book an appointment, and your visit will begin with a brief skin review so your esthetician or provider can confirm the service fits your skin type, goals, sensitivity, timing, and treatment history.

What areas does Vital Glow serve for facials and day spa services?

Vital Glow serves patients from Columbia, Irmo, Lexington, Chapin, Lake Murray, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, and nearby Midlands communities for facials, AquaFirme XS, dermaplaning, chemical peels, waxing, lash services, brow services, and skin rejuvenation.

Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore volume, soften selected wrinkles and folds, or refine facial features. Restylane products use hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the skin.

Which filler brand does Vital Glow use?

Vital Glow uses products from the Restylane family. The exact formulation depends on the area, desired result, anatomy, and current product availability.

Why are there several Restylane products?

Different areas need different levels of flexibility, precision, and structural support. A product suited to lips may not be the best choice for cheeks, chin, under-eyes, or deeper folds.

Which areas can Restylane fillers treat?

Depending on the product and patient, approved treatment areas within the Restylane portfolio include lips, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds, cheeks, chin, under-eye hollows, temples, and the backs of the hands.

Are filler results immediate?

Added volume is visible immediately, but swelling and bruising can temporarily change the appearance. The result should be evaluated after the initial healing period.

How long do Restylane fillers last?

Longevity varies by product, area, amount, metabolism, and movement. Results often last several months, and some Restylane treatments may last a year or longer. Maintenance timing is individualized.

How much product will I need?

The amount of product depends on facial anatomy and the degree of change requested. A subtle lip treatment may use less product than a multi-area cheek, chin, or full-face plan. Your provider will estimate the amount before treatment.

How much do fillers cost at Vital Glow?

Pricing depends on the Restylane product, treatment area, and amount of filler used. A consultation confirms the recommended product, estimated number of syringes, and total cost.

Does filler treatment hurt?

Patients may feel pinching, pressure, or tenderness. Comfort measures can include topical anesthetic, ice, careful technique, and formulations containing lidocaine when applicable.

Is there downtime after filler?

Many patients return to normal daily activities quickly, but swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness, or temporary unevenness are common. Plan treatment with enough time before important events.

Can Restylane filler be dissolved?

Restylane is an HA filler and can often be dissolved with hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate. Dissolving is a medical procedure and may require more than one treatment; it does not guarantee an immediate or perfectly predictable cosmetic result.

Who should not receive dermal filler?

Treatment may be inappropriate for people with active infection or inflammation at the site, certain severe allergies, bleeding disorders, or other contraindications. Safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been established. The provider reviews your history before treatment.

What are the serious risks of dermal filler?

Rare injection into or compression of a blood vessel can cause tissue injury, scarring, vision loss, or stroke. Severe or unusual pain, pale or mottled skin, vision changes, weakness, facial droop, or speech difficulty after treatment requires urgent medical attention.

How should I prepare for filler?

Tell the provider about medications, supplements, allergies, prior filler, cold sores, recent illness, vaccinations, dental work, and planned procedures. Do not stop prescribed blood thinners without the prescribing clinician’s approval.

What should I avoid after filler?

Follow the individualized instructions. Patients are commonly advised to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, alcohol, and pressure on the treated area for a short period. Do not massage filler unless the provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Do I need a consultation?

Yes. A consultation allows the provider to determine whether filler is appropriate, choose the Restylane product and amount, discuss alternatives, review risks, and set realistic expectations.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Treatment

What is the best treatment for erectile dysfunction?

The best erectile dysfunction treatment depends on the cause of your symptoms. Some men respond well to oral ED medications such as Cialis, Viagra, tadalafil, or sildenafil. Others may need hormone evaluation, testosterone replacement therapy, TriMix injections, lifestyle changes, metabolic support, or a combination plan. Other sexual-wellness options, including discussion of penile PRP, may be considered separately when appropriate. A private consultation helps determine which approach best fits your health history, symptoms, and goals.

Do you offer Cialis or Viagra for ED?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, Vital Glow can discuss oral ED medication options such as Cialis, Viagra, tadalafil, or sildenafil. These medications may help improve erectile function by supporting blood flow, but they are not safe for everyone. Your provider will review your health history and medications before recommending treatment.

Do you offer TriMix injections in Columbia, SC?

Yes. TriMix injections may be discussed as a provider-directed ED treatment option for men who do not respond well to oral ED medications, cannot take them, or want another erectile-function option under medical supervision. Your provider will determine whether TriMix is appropriate based on your health history, symptoms, and goals.

Can low testosterone cause erectile dysfunction?

Low testosterone can contribute to reduced libido, decreased sexual performance, fatigue, low motivation, mood changes, and changes in body composition. It may be one factor in erectile dysfunction, but ED often has more than one cause. Lab testing can help determine whether testosterone levels may be part of the issue.

Is TRT always needed for ED?

No. Testosterone replacement therapy is not automatically needed for erectile dysfunction. TRT may be appropriate when symptoms and lab results support low testosterone. Some men need oral medication, TriMix, lifestyle changes, metabolic support, or another treatment approach instead.

What is penile PRP for male sexual wellness?

Penile PRP uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood. Evidence for PRP as a treatment for erectile dysfunction remains limited, and it is not an established standard treatment for ED. If PRP is discussed, your provider will explain the uncertainty, available alternatives, and what is and is not known about expected benefit.

Is ED treatment confidential?

Yes. Erectile dysfunction consultations at Vital Glow are private and discreet. You can speak openly with your provider in a respectful, judgment-free setting.

Do I need lab work for erectile dysfunction?

Not always, but lab work is often helpful. Blood testing may help identify low testosterone, blood sugar issues, thyroid concerns, metabolic problems, or other health factors that can contribute to ED. Your provider will recommend labs only when appropriate.

Can erectile dysfunction be a sign of another health problem?

Yes. ED can sometimes be connected to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, low testosterone, medication side effects, stress, or other health concerns. That is why a proper evaluation is important, especially if ED is persistent or new.

Are additional wellness options available for libido, performance, or recovery?

When clinically appropriate, additional provider-directed wellness options for libido, performance, recovery, and metabolic support may be discussed privately during your consultation. Your provider will explain whether any option is appropriate for your goals and health history.

When should I see a provider for erectile dysfunction?

You should consider seeing a provider if ED happens regularly, affects your confidence, impacts your relationship, or does not improve with basic lifestyle changes. You should also seek care if ED appears suddenly or occurs with other symptoms such as fatigue, low libido, chest pain, shortness of breath, or signs of cardiovascular risk.

Hair Restoration

What is hair restoration at Vital Glow?

Hair restoration at Vital Glow is a personalized, non-surgical approach for patients experiencing thinning hair, shedding, reduced density, widening part, receding hairline, or scalp changes. Your plan may include the DE|RIVE® Hair Wellness System with NOUVADerm™ laser scalp support, PRP hair restoration, REVIAN RED® at-home light therapy, labs, hormone review, wellness support, or other provider-recommended options.

What causes hair thinning or hair loss?

Hair thinning can be influenced by genetics, androgen sensitivity, hormones, thyroid changes, iron or ferritin levels, vitamin status, stress, medications, postpartum changes, menopause, scalp inflammation, nutrition, and overall health. A consultation helps identify which factors may be relevant for you.

Do you offer PRP hair restoration?

Yes. PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, uses a concentrated portion of your own blood that contains platelets and growth factors. It is injected into targeted scalp areas to support hair follicle activity and healthier-looking hair over time. Results vary and multiple sessions are typically needed.

Do you offer NOUVADerm™ laser scalp support?

Yes. Vital Glow has NOUVADerm™ 1927nm Thulium laser technology, which includes scalp-care and Hair Support capabilities. For our most comprehensive NOUVADerm™ scalp-support protocol, the treatment is paired with the DE|RIVE® Hair Wellness System when appropriate.

Is NOUVADerm™ the same as PRP?

No. PRP uses platelet-rich plasma from your own blood and is injected into the scalp. NOUVADerm™ is a laser-based scalp support treatment. Depending on your goals and candidacy, your provider may recommend one approach or a combined plan.

What is the DE|RIVE® Hair Wellness System?

DE|RIVE® is a plant-based, hormone-free scalp and hair support system. It combines an in-office Hair Support Serum with daily at-home shampoo, leave-in conditioner, and serum. At Vital Glow, DE|RIVE® is commonly used with NOUVADerm™ Hair Support treatments as our preferred combined protocol to support scalp health and fuller-looking hair. Individual results vary.

What is REVIAN RED® at-home light therapy?

REVIAN RED® is an FDA-cleared low-level light therapy device for qualifying men and women with androgenetic alopecia. Its wireless cap uses red and orange LEDs across the scalp and is designed for one 10-minute treatment per day. The mobile app operates the device and helps track consistency. Your provider can help determine whether it fits your hair-loss pattern, medical history, and current medications.

How do I purchase REVIAN RED® through Vital Glow?

Visit REVIAN and enter the provider code vitalglow when prompted. The code provides access to the current provider discount. REVIAN RED® currently also includes a 100% money-back guarantee for eligible initial buyers who maintain at least 80% treatment compliance during the first 180 days and request a return during days 180–210 after the first treatment. Product pricing, discount, guarantee, return, and financing terms are controlled by REVIAN and may change.

How does the REVIAN RED® money-back guarantee work?

Under REVIAN’s current terms, an eligible initial buyer must record at least 80% treatment compliance during the first six months (180 days), request the return during the seventh month (days 180–210 after the first treatment), obtain return authorization, and follow REVIAN’s shipping instructions. REVIAN controls and may change the guarantee terms, so review its current Terms of Sale before purchasing.

Do I need lab work for hair restoration?

Not every patient needs labs, but lab testing may be recommended when symptoms, medical history, hormone concerns, thyroid concerns, nutritional issues, or unexplained shedding suggest that more information would be helpful. Vital Glow offers comprehensive lab testing when appropriate.

Can hormones affect hair loss?

Yes. Hormone patterns, androgen sensitivity, thyroid changes, postpartum changes, perimenopause, menopause, and other endocrine factors may contribute to hair changes. Vital Glow may discuss men's health or women's hormone care when relevant.

Is hair restoration different for men and women?

Yes. Men often notice receding hairline, crown thinning, or overall density changes. Women may notice a widening part, reduced volume, increased shedding, or changes related to postpartum shifts, perimenopause, menopause, thyroid issues, nutrition, or stress. Treatment planning should reflect the pattern and likely contributors.

Who is a good candidate for hair restoration?

A good candidate may have early to moderate thinning, shedding, reduced density, or scalp concerns and wants a non-surgical, realistic approach. Candidacy depends on the cause of hair loss, scalp health, medical history, medications, expectations, and the amount of active hair follicles remaining.

Who may not be a good candidate?

Hair restoration may not be appropriate for patients with certain medical conditions, active scalp infections, untreated underlying disease, unrealistic expectations, advanced hair loss with limited follicles, or concerns that require dermatology or specialist evaluation. Your provider will discuss whether treatment makes sense for you.

How long does it take to see hair restoration results?

Hair restoration is gradual. Many patients need several months before meaningful changes are visible because hair grows in cycles. Results depend on the cause of hair loss, treatment plan, consistency, scalp health, and individual response.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of in-office sessions depends on the treatment selected, your goals, your hair-loss pattern, and your response. PRP and the combined NOUVADerm™ with DE|RIVE® protocol may require a series of treatments and maintenance. REVIAN RED® is designed for one at-home 10-minute treatment per day according to the manufacturer's instructions. Your provider will explain the recommended schedule for your plan.

Can hair restoration stop hair loss permanently?

No treatment can guarantee permanent stopping of hair loss. Many forms of hair thinning are chronic or influenced by genetics, hormones, stress, medications, nutrition, or medical conditions. The goal is to support scalp health, improve the appearance of density when possible, and help preserve existing hair when appropriate.

Can I combine DE|RIVE®, NOUVADerm™, PRP, REVIAN RED®, labs, hormones, and wellness support?

Yes, when appropriate. Many patients benefit from a plan that considers multiple contributing factors. Vital Glow commonly pairs DE|RIVE® with NOUVADerm™ for its preferred combined scalp-support protocol. Your provider may also discuss PRP, REVIAN RED® at-home light therapy, labs, wellness care, men's health, or women's hormone care based on your situation.

Is hair restoration painful?

Comfort varies by treatment. PRP involves scalp injections and may cause temporary tenderness. Laser scalp support is different and may feel warm or prickly depending on settings and treatment plan. Your provider will explain what to expect before treatment.

Is there downtime after hair restoration treatment?

Downtime depends on the treatment used. Some patients may have temporary scalp tenderness, redness, swelling, or sensitivity. Your provider will give aftercare instructions based on your treatment plan.

Do you perform hair transplants?

Vital Glow focuses on non-surgical hair restoration support. If your hair loss is advanced or you are seeking transplant surgery, we can discuss whether a referral to a hair transplant specialist may be more appropriate.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

What is hormone replacement therapy for women?

Hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, is personalized medical treatment that may help relieve symptoms related to changing hormone levels during perimenopause, menopause, postmenopause, surgical menopause, or other hormone changes. Your plan may include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or another supportive option based on your needs.

How do I know whether my symptoms are related to hormones?

You do not have to know before you book. During your private consultation, your provider will listen to your symptoms, review your history, and help determine whether hormones may be part of the picture or whether something else deserves attention.

What symptoms can women’s HRT help with?

When hormones are contributing, HRT may help with concerns such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, vaginal dryness, discomfort with intimacy, low libido, fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, and feeling unlike yourself. Every patient is different, so the first step is understanding your individual pattern of symptoms.

Do you provide care for both perimenopause and menopause?

Yes. Vital Glow sees women experiencing perimenopause, menopause, postmenopause, surgical menopause, and other hormone-related concerns. You do not need to wait until your periods have completely stopped to ask for help.

Do you offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in Columbia, SC?

Yes. Vital Glow offers bioidentical hormone therapy options when appropriate, including FDA-approved and compounded options. Your provider will explain what “bioidentical” means and help you understand which choices may fit your symptoms, preferences, and health history.

Do you offer HRT pellets?

Yes. Hormone pellets are one of several HRT options available at Vital Glow. Some women appreciate their convenience, while others prefer creams, patches, pills, injections, or vaginal options. You and your provider can decide together which approach makes the most sense for you.

What types of HRT does Vital Glow offer?

Depending on your needs, options may include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, bioidentical hormone therapy, pellets, creams, gels, patches, oral medications, injections, vaginal hormone options, FDA-approved medications, compounded options, and nonhormonal support.

Will I need lab work before starting HRT?

Not every woman needs the same testing. Your provider will review your symptoms and history first, then explain whether lab work or other evaluation would be useful for understanding your symptoms or guiding your care.

Is HRT safe?

HRT is appropriate for many women, but it is not right for everyone. Before recommending treatment, your provider reviews your health history and discusses the benefits, risks, and alternatives that apply to you. That detailed conversation is part of your consultation and treatment planning.

How long does it take to notice a difference?

Some women notice changes within a few weeks, while other improvements develop over several months. Timing depends on your symptoms, treatment plan, and how your body responds. Follow-up allows your provider to hear how you are doing and adjust the plan when appropriate.

Can HRT help with low libido or vaginal discomfort?

It may help when hormone changes are contributing to low libido, vaginal dryness, or discomfort with intimacy. These concerns are common and can be discussed privately and without judgment during your consultation.

Can HRT help with weight or body-composition changes?

HRT is not a stand-alone weight-loss treatment, but hormone changes can overlap with sleep, energy, muscle, and body-composition concerns. Your provider can look at the full picture and discuss whether hormone care, medical weight loss support, or a combined wellness plan may be appropriate.

What happens during my first HRT appointment?

Your first visit is a private, unrushed conversation with your provider. You will discuss your symptoms, health history, goals, and concerns. She will explain what may be contributing, whether any testing is useful, and which next steps make sense. You will have time to ask questions before making decisions.

How long does an IV therapy appointment take?

Most IV therapy appointments take about 90 minutes, including consultation, health review, preparation, infusion time, and checkout.

How much does IV therapy cost?

IV therapy pricing starts at about $100. Final pricing depends on the treatment selected, add-ins, product availability, and provider recommendation.

Can I receive IV therapy the same day?

Yes, in many cases. Every service includes a consultation and screening, and treatment may be provided the same day if you qualify and the recommended option is available.

Who administers IV therapy?

IV therapy at Vital Glow is administered in-office by a nurse. Your health history and eligibility are reviewed before treatment.

Is IV therapy safe?

IV therapy can be appropriate for many adults, but it is not right for everyone. Safety depends on your health history, medications, allergies, pregnancy status, heart and kidney health, blood pressure, and fluid-balance risks. Your provider reviews these factors before recommending treatment.

Who should not receive IV therapy?

IV therapy is generally not recommended for pregnant women, children, patients with unstable heart disease, kidney disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain medication risks, allergies, or fluid-balance concerns. Your provider will review your history before treatment.

Can IV therapy help after surgery?

Some patients seek IV therapy for post-surgical wellness or recovery support when appropriate. IV therapy is not a substitute for surgical follow-up, wound care, or medical treatment. Clearance or additional guidance may be needed depending on your procedure and health history.

Can IV therapy help if I am taking a GLP-1 weight loss medication?

Patients using GLP-1 medications may ask about hydration and nutrient support, especially if reduced appetite, nausea, or lower intake are affecting how they feel. IV therapy is not a replacement for medication management, nutrition, or medical care, but it may be discussed as part of a broader wellness plan when appropriate.

Is IV therapy good for hangovers?

Some patients seek hydration support after alcohol use, but IV therapy is not a cure for hangovers, alcohol-related illness, dehydration, or unsafe alcohol use. If symptoms are severe or concerning, seek appropriate medical care.

Do I need labs before IV therapy?

Not every patient needs labs before IV therapy. In some cases, labs or additional medical evaluation may be recommended based on your symptoms, health history, medications, or treatment goals. Vital Glow also offers comprehensive lab testing when appropriate.

What is the difference between IV therapy and wellness injections?

IV therapy delivers fluids and selected nutrients through an intravenous infusion and usually takes longer. Wellness injections are typically shorter visits and may be appropriate for selected vitamin or wellness support goals. You can learn more about related wellness services.

Laser Hair Removal

What laser does Vital Glow use for laser hair removal?

Vital Glow uses the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus®, an advanced dual-wavelength laser platform with 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology. This allows treatment to be customized for a broad range of skin tones, hair types, and body areas.

Why does GentleMax Pro Plus® technology matter?

Laser hair removal is not just about having a laser. The device, wavelength, cooling system, settings, and provider judgment all matter. GentleMax Pro Plus® offers dual wavelengths, high-speed performance, larger spot sizes for efficient treatments, and Dynamic Cooling Device™ support for skin protection and comfort.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal is best described as long-term hair reduction. Many patients experience a major reduction in hair growth, thinner hair, slower regrowth, and less maintenance. Results vary, and maintenance treatments may be recommended over time.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Most patients need a series of treatments because hair grows in cycles and the laser works best on hairs in the active growth phase. Many patients need about 6–8 sessions, though the exact number varies by area, hair type, skin tone, hormones, and individual response.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most patients describe the sensation as a quick snap or warmth. The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus® uses Dynamic Cooling Device™ technology to help protect the skin surface and improve comfort during treatment. Sensation varies by treatment area and individual sensitivity.

Is laser hair removal safe for darker skin tones?

Laser hair removal can be performed on a broad range of skin tones when the right technology and settings are used. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is commonly selected for darker skin tones because it penetrates more deeply and interacts differently with melanin than shorter wavelengths. A consultation is needed to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

Is laser hair removal better than IPL?

IPL and true laser hair removal are not the same. Vital Glow uses a medical-grade dual-wavelength Candela laser platform rather than relying on IPL-style broad-spectrum light. The right choice depends on skin tone, hair type, treatment area, and provider assessment.

What areas can be treated?

Common laser hair removal treatment areas include the face, upper lip, chin, sideburns, beard line, underarms, arms, legs, bikini area, Brazilian area when appropriate, chest, abdomen, back, shoulders, neck, and maintenance areas prone to razor bumps or ingrown hairs.

Can men get laser hair removal?

Yes. Laser hair removal is popular with men who want to reduce unwanted hair on the back, chest, shoulders, neck, beard line, abdomen, or other areas. Many men use it to reduce grooming time, razor bumps, and irritation. Patients may also combine grooming-focused care with men's health services when appropriate.

Can women treat sensitive areas?

Yes. Laser hair removal is commonly performed on areas such as the bikini line, Brazilian area, underarms, face, and legs. Every treatment is customized based on the area, skin type, hair type, and comfort level.

How should I prepare before laser hair removal?

Shave the treatment area about 24 hours before your appointment unless your provider gives different instructions. Avoid waxing, tweezing, or plucking because the laser needs the follicle target. Avoid tanning and heavy sun exposure before treatment.

Can I shave between laser hair removal treatments?

Yes. Shaving is allowed between treatments. Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or plucking because those methods remove the hair follicle target the laser needs.

Is there downtime after laser hair removal?

Most patients return to normal activities after treatment. Mild redness, warmth, or sensitivity can occur and usually resolves quickly. Your provider will review aftercare instructions, including avoiding excessive heat, sun exposure, and harsh exfoliation for a short period.

How soon will I see results?

Some patients notice reduced hair growth after the first few treatments, but results build gradually. Because hair grows in cycles, the best results require consistent treatment over time.

Can I be in the sun before or after laser hair removal?

It is best to limit sun exposure and avoid tanning before and after laser hair removal. Sunburned or heavily tanned skin may increase the risk of irritation, discoloration, or delay in treatment.

Does laser hair removal work on blonde, gray, white, or red hair?

Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment in the hair follicle. It usually does not work well on white, gray, very light blonde, or some red hair because there may not be enough pigment for the laser to target effectively.

Can laser hair removal help with ingrown hairs or razor bumps?

Laser hair removal may help reduce the need for shaving and can be useful for patients who struggle with razor bumps or ingrown hairs from frequent shaving or waxing. Results vary, and your provider will evaluate the area, skin type, and hair characteristics before treatment.

Can I combine laser hair removal with other Vital Glow services?

Yes, when appropriate. Many patients combine laser hair removal with aesthetic services, facials or brow services, wellness care, or men's health services. Your provider can help you schedule treatments safely and appropriately.

Where can I get laser hair removal near Columbia or Irmo, SC?

Vital Glow Men's & Women's Health offers laser hair removal in Columbia, SC, serving patients from Irmo, Lexington, Chapin, Ballentine, Cayce, West Columbia, Lake Murray, and the surrounding Midlands.

Laser Clear Toenail Treatment

What is onychomycosis?

Onychomycosis is a fungal infection involving the nail plate or nail bed. It can cause thickening, discoloration, brittleness, debris, or distortion, but other nail conditions can look similar.

What result is the Candela laser cleared to provide?

The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is cleared for a temporary increase in clear nail in patients with onychomycosis. This is different from guaranteeing permanent fungal eradication or a complete cure.

Does laser treatment cure toenail fungus?

No treatment result can be guaranteed. Laser treatment is offered to support clearer-looking nail as it grows out. Your provider will discuss limitations, alternative treatments, and whether combined care may be appropriate.

How many laser sessions will I need?

The number and spacing of treatments vary based on the number of nails involved, severity, response, and provider recommendation. A treatment plan can be discussed after evaluation.

Does the treatment hurt?

Patients may feel warmth or brief heat during laser pulses. Sensation varies by person and by nail. Tell the provider immediately if the treatment becomes uncomfortable.

Is there downtime after treatment?

Laser toenail treatment is noninvasive and typically does not require downtime, but you should follow the aftercare instructions provided for your specific treatment.

How long does it take to see a clearer nail?

Improvement is gradual because the toenail must grow forward. Toenails grow slowly, so visible change may take several months and varies by nail and individual.

Do I need a diagnosis before booking?

An evaluation is appropriate because fungal infection is not the only cause of thickened or discolored nails. Your provider may recommend additional testing or outside medical evaluation when the cause is uncertain.

Can the fungus or nail changes come back?

Recurrence or reinfection is possible. Shoes, socks, shared surfaces, moisture, untreated athlete's foot, nail trauma, and other factors can contribute. Home-care and prevention guidance are an important part of treatment.

Can laser be combined with topical or oral treatment?

Combination treatment may be considered in some cases, but recommendations depend on your health history, diagnosis, medications, and provider judgment. Do not start or stop a prescription treatment without speaking with the prescribing clinician.

NOUVADerm Laser

What is NOUVADerm?

NOUVADerm is a fourth-generation fractional resurfacing platform that uses a 1927nm thulium laser. It can deliver non-ablative, sub-ablative, and ablative pulses and includes proprietary skin-revitalization and Hair Support modes.

How does NOUVADerm work?

The 1927nm wavelength targets water in the epidermal and superficial dermal layers. Fractional energy is delivered in a grid-like pattern to create controlled microthermal zones while preserving surrounding tissue to support recovery.

What concerns can NOUVADerm treat?

It may be considered for sun damage, sunspots, unwanted pigmentation, uneven tone, dullness, rough texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, acne scars, selected superficial scars, stretch marks, and scalp support. Candidacy and expected benefit depend on the individual concern.

Is NOUVADerm an ablative laser?

It can be used in non-ablative, sub-ablative, or ablative modes. Your provider selects the mode and settings based on the treatment goal, area, skin, and appropriate recovery profile.

Is NOUVADerm suitable for every skin type?

The manufacturer describes the platform as suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types and colors. That does not mean every setting or treatment is appropriate for every person. A provider must still evaluate your history, skin condition, recent sun exposure, medications, and risk factors.

Where can NOUVADerm be used?

Depending on the concern, it may be used on the scalp, face, neck, chest, hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and other appropriate body areas.

What does a NOUVADerm treatment feel like?

Comfort varies with the area and intensity. Patients may feel warmth, prickling, or a sunburn-like sensation. Your provider will explain comfort measures and what to expect for your specific plan.

How much downtime should I expect?

Downtime depends heavily on the selected mode, settings, treatment area, and individual response. Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, dryness, roughness, bronzing, flaking, or peeling may occur. More corrective treatments generally involve more visible recovery.

How many treatments will I need?

Some goals may be addressed with a single treatment, while pigment, texture, scarring, stretch marks, or hair-support plans may require a series and maintenance. Your provider will recommend a plan after evaluating the concern.

When will I see results?

Some patients notice improved brightness and smoother-looking skin as the surface renews. Changes related to collagen remodeling develop more gradually. Results and timelines vary, and no outcome is guaranteed.

What is NOUVADerm Hair Support mode?

Hair Support is a dedicated scalp-treatment mode designed to prepare and support the scalp as part of a hair-focused plan. It may be combined with other approaches when appropriate. Learn more on Vital Glow’s hair restoration page.

Can NOUVADerm be combined with other treatments?

Yes, when clinically appropriate and properly timed. It may be staged with RF microneedling, PRP, injectables, peels, facials, skincare, or other laser treatments depending on the concern. Your provider will create a safe sequence rather than combining treatments automatically.

How is NOUVADerm different from RF microneedling?

NOUVADerm is a fractional 1927nm thulium laser that primarily addresses upper-layer resurfacing goals such as pigment, tone, texture, and superficial signs of photoaging. RF microneedling uses needles and radiofrequency energy to target deeper collagen remodeling, firmness, texture, pores, scars, and mild laxity. Some patients may benefit from one; others may benefit from a staged combination.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes. The same device can produce very different treatment depths and recovery profiles. A consultation is necessary to confirm candidacy, select the appropriate plan, discuss alternatives, and provide accurate aftercare instructions.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

How do I know if I have low testosterone?

You do not have to know before scheduling. Low energy, low libido, erectile changes, brain fog, reduced strength, poor recovery, mood changes, and body-composition changes can be associated with low testosterone, but they can have other causes too. A consultation and appropriate lab testing can help determine whether testosterone may be contributing.

Do I need lab work before starting TRT?

Yes. Testosterone levels are evaluated along with your symptoms and health history before TRT is recommended. Testing often includes more than one early-morning testosterone measurement when confirmation is needed.

What forms of TRT does Vital Glow offer?

Depending on your needs, options may include testosterone injections, topical creams or gels, pellets, oral options, or testosterone-supporting medications when appropriate. Your provider will explain the choices and recommend a plan based on your health, preferences, and lifestyle.

What symptoms may improve with TRT?

When low testosterone is contributing, TRT may help improve energy, libido, sexual wellness, focus, motivation, strength, recovery, body composition, mood, and overall sense of vitality. Results vary, and improvement generally develops over time.

How long does it take to notice a difference?

Some men notice changes in energy, mood, or libido within several weeks, while changes in strength, recovery, and body composition may develop over several months. Your provider will follow your progress and adjust the plan when appropriate.

Is TRT safe?

TRT is appropriate for many men with confirmed low testosterone, but it is not right for everyone. Your provider reviews your health history and discusses the benefits, risks, and alternatives that apply to you before recommending treatment. That detailed conversation is part of your consultation.

Can TRT affect fertility?

Yes. Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production. Tell your provider if you are trying to conceive or want to preserve fertility so that this can be considered when discussing your options.

Can low testosterone contribute to erectile dysfunction?

It can contribute to reduced libido or sexual-performance changes, although erectile dysfunction can have several causes. Vital Glow also provides private erectile dysfunction treatment in Columbia, SC when additional support is appropriate.

Can TRT help with weight or body composition?

TRT is not a stand-alone weight-loss treatment, but improving low testosterone may support energy, strength, muscle, recovery, and body-composition goals. Your provider can also discuss medical weight loss support when appropriate.

What happens during my first TRT appointment?

Your first visit is a private, unrushed conversation with your provider. You will discuss what has changed, your health history, goals, medications, lifestyle, and any fertility concerns. She will explain what testing is needed and help you understand the next step.

Who provides TRT care at Vital Glow?

TRT care is led by Candace Danbury, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, Vital Glow’s founder and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in men’s hormone health, sexual wellness, medical weight loss, and comprehensive lab review.

VirtueRF Microneedling

What is RF microneedling?

RF microneedling uses sterile microneedles to enter the skin and deliver radiofrequency energy at selected depths. The controlled injury and heat support collagen and elastin remodeling.

Which RF microneedling device does Vital Glow use?

Vital Glow uses the ShenB VirtueRF system shown in the clinic photograph on this page. Treatment availability depends on the handpiece, tip, and protocol appropriate for the area.

What can VirtueRF help improve?

Patients commonly seek treatment for facial wrinkles, fine lines, mild laxity, rough or crepey texture, enlarged-looking pores, and selected acne-scar appearance. Not every concern or patient is appropriate.

Is VirtueRF FDA cleared?

Yes. VirtueRF is an FDA-cleared Class II prescription RF system. The SmartRF 1 MHz functionality includes a cleared indication for percutaneous treatment of facial wrinkles in Fitzpatrick skin types I–V. Other uses should not automatically be described as FDA-cleared indications.

How is RF microneedling different from regular microneedling?

Both create controlled microchannels. RF microneedling also delivers radiofrequency energy through the needles, producing focused heat at selected depths for additional tissue remodeling.

Does RF microneedling hurt?

Topical numbing is commonly used. Patients may still feel pressure, warmth, vibration, or brief pinching. Comfort varies by treatment area, depth, energy, and individual sensitivity.

How long does a treatment take?

Timing depends on the area and whether numbing time is included. The manufacturer notes that a full-face device treatment may take about 20 minutes, but the total appointment is longer because of assessment, preparation, numbing, and aftercare.

What is the downtime?

Many patients have redness and warmth for several hours, but swelling, sensitivity, dryness, roughness, or visible needle marks can last longer. More intensive settings may create more recovery time.

When will I see results?

Some patients notice early smoothness or glow after healing. Collagen remodeling is gradual, and the manufacturer states that full benefits may take about four to six weeks to become apparent.

How many treatments will I need?

A common plan is three to four sessions spaced about four to six weeks apart. The recommendation may be fewer or more depending on the concern, treatment intensity, healing, and desired degree of change.

Can VirtueRF be used on darker skin tones?

The SmartRF 1 MHz cleared indication for facial wrinkles includes Fitzpatrick skin types I–V. Skin type is only one factor; pigment history, sun exposure, medications, inflammation, and treatment settings also affect risk.

Which areas can be treated?

Common SmartRF areas include the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. The VirtueRF platform can support other handpieces, but Vital Glow must confirm that the correct applicator and protocol are available for the requested area.

How should I prepare?

Tell the provider about medications, supplements, bleeding history, implanted devices, pregnancy, recent procedures, skin infections, cold sores, tanning, and products such as retinoids or exfoliating acids. Follow the individualized pre-treatment instructions.

What should I avoid afterward?

Follow Vital Glow’s instructions. Patients are commonly advised to use gentle skincare and sun protection, avoid picking or scrubbing, and temporarily avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and irritating active products.

Who should not receive RF microneedling?

Treatment may be inappropriate with active infection or inflammation, open wounds, certain implanted electronic devices, significant healing problems, uncontrolled medical conditions, bleeding concerns, pregnancy, or other contraindications. The provider determines candidacy.

What are the serious risks?

The FDA has received reports of burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement, and nerve damage with certain RF microneedling uses. Seek care promptly for severe pain, blistering, worsening swelling, weakness, numbness, drainage, fever, or other concerning symptoms.

How much does RF microneedling cost at Vital Glow?

Pricing depends on the treatment area, applicator, number of sessions, and whether a package is recommended. Vital Glow will confirm the current price before treatment.

Do I need a consultation?

Yes. A consultation confirms candidacy, treatment area, expected benefit, number of sessions, risks, alternatives, and the appropriate VirtueRF protocol.

Wellness & Medical Weight Loss

Do you offer semaglutide and tirzepatide for weight loss?

Yes. Vital Glow offers provider-guided medical weight loss support that may include compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide when clinically appropriate. Your provider will review your health history, medications, goals, and risk factors before recommending any GLP-1 option.

Are your GLP-1 medications compounded?

Yes, our GLP-1 options may include compounded medications. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved drugs and are prepared by a compounding pharmacy based on a provider prescription. Because dosing and instructions matter, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide should only be used with provider guidance, clear instructions, follow-up, and monitoring.

What is the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are different GLP-1-based medication options used in weight-management care. They work through related but different pathways that may affect appetite, fullness, cravings, and blood sugar signaling. Your provider will help determine which option, if any, may be appropriate based on your health history, goals, contraindications, and tolerance.

Do I need labs before starting medical weight loss?

Not everyone needs labs before starting, but comprehensive lab testing is often helpful. Labs may provide insight into hormones, thyroid markers, metabolic health, blood sugar patterns, vitamin levels, and safety considerations. Your provider will recommend labs when they are appropriate for your situation.

What happens during the first medical weight loss visit?

Your first visit includes a private consultation, health-history review, medication review, discussion of your goals, review of previous weight-loss attempts, and a conversation about whether labs, compounded GLP-1 medication, wellness injections, hormone care, or another option may be appropriate. If treatment is started, we will review instructions, expectations, follow-up, and monitoring.

Do you provide ongoing follow-up and dose adjustments?

Yes. Medical weight loss at Vital Glow includes ongoing follow-up, monitoring, and dose adjustments when appropriate. This helps your provider evaluate progress, side effects, tolerance, and whether your plan needs to change over time.

Can hormone changes make weight loss harder?

Yes. Hormone changes can affect energy, appetite, metabolism, body composition, and how the body stores fat. Men with symptoms of low testosterone may be directed to our TRT page, while women with perimenopause or menopause concerns may be directed to our HRT page.

Do you offer TRT and HRT with weight loss support?

Yes. Vital Glow has dedicated care pathways for testosterone replacement therapy for men and hormone replacement therapy for women. Hormone care is not required for every weight-loss patient, but it may be discussed when symptoms, labs, or health history suggest it could be relevant.

What wellness injections do you offer?

Wellness injection options may include Vitamin B12, Lipo-MIC or lipotropic support, MIC + B12, glutathione, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, NAD+ support, amino acid support, and other provider-recommended nutrient injections. Availability and recommendations may vary based on your goals, health history, medications, and provider review.

Can B12 or Lipo-MIC help with weight loss?

B12 and Lipo-MIC injections may be used as supportive wellness tools, but they are not a substitute for a medical weight-loss plan, nutrition habits, physical activity, sleep, or treatment of underlying health issues. Your provider can explain whether they make sense as part of your broader weight-management plan.

Are wellness injections the same as IV therapy?

No. Wellness injections and IV therapy are different services. Injections are typically quicker and use a smaller volume, while IV therapy uses an intravenous infusion over a longer appointment. Your provider can help determine which option is a better fit for your goals.

Do you offer IV therapy?

Yes. Vital Glow offers IV therapy in Columbia, SC for patients interested in hydration and nutrient support through an intravenous infusion. IV therapy is a separate service with its own dedicated page.

Do you offer meal replacements or personal training?

No. Vital Glow does not offer meal replacements or personal training. Our approach focuses on medical evaluation, provider-guided treatment options, comprehensive labs when appropriate, wellness support, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, follow-up, and monitoring.

What happens if I stop taking GLP-1 medication?

Weight-loss medications can be helpful tools, but long-term success also depends on sustainable nutrition, regular activity, sleep, stress management, and follow-up care. If you stop medication, your provider can help you plan next steps and discuss strategies to support maintenance.

Is this just a weight loss program?

No. This page covers medical weight loss and broader wellness support. Depending on your needs, your plan may include compounded GLP-1 support, labs, wellness injections, IV therapy, TRT, HRT, or other provider-guided care.
