Candela GentleMax Pro Plus®

One advanced laser platform for smoother skin, less unwanted hair, and a range of skin and vascular concerns.

The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus® combines 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG laser technology, giving us the flexibility to personalize treatment for different skin tones, hair types, treatment areas, and aesthetic goals.

Many patients know Candela for laser hair removal, but the platform can also be used for razor bumps, selected sun spots and pigmentation, visible redness and facial vessels, selected veins, and clear-nail treatments. Your consultation helps us match the technology and treatment plan to what you want to improve.

Two Wavelengths.
More Treatment Options.

Two laser wavelengths give us more flexibility to personalize treatment instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. GentleMax Pro Plus® also includes Candela’s Dynamic Cooling Device™, which helps cool the skin immediately before each laser pulse for a more comfortable treatment experience.

What GentleMax Pro Plus May Help Improve

Because Candela can be used for several different concerns, we personalize the treatment plan during your consultation.

GentleMax Pro Plus® Treatment Options

From hair reduction to pigmentation and visible vessels, the same Candela platform can be customized for very different goals. We choose the wavelength and settings based on the area being treated and the result you want to achieve.

Why Two Laser Wavelengths Matter

755nm Alexandrite: Often chosen for lighter skin tones and many hair or pigmentation treatments.

1064nm Nd:YAG: A deeper-reaching wavelength that gives us additional flexibility for darker skin tones, coarser hair, vascular concerns, and clear-nail treatments.

Dynamic Cooling Device™: Candela’s built-in cooling delivers a brief cooling spray immediately before the laser pulse to help make treatment more comfortable.

Having both wavelengths in one platform lets us customize treatment rather than using the same settings for everyone.

Laser Hair Removal for a Broad Range of Skin Tones

Laser hair removal targets actively growing hair, which is why treatments are performed as a series rather than a single visit. As the series progresses, many patients notice slower regrowth, thinner hair, fewer ingrown hairs, and much less day-to-day maintenance.

Because GentleMax Pro Plus® combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths, treatment can be customized across a broad range of skin tones and hair types. Larger spot sizes also help make areas such as the legs, back, chest, and shoulders more efficient to treat.

  • Face, chin, upper lip, and neck
  • Underarms
  • Arms and hands
  • Chest and abdomen
  • Back and shoulders
  • Bikini and Brazilian areas
  • Legs
  • Feet and toes
  • Beard-line razor bumps and ingrown hairs

Laser hair removal is designed for long-term hair reduction. Results build gradually across a treatment series, and occasional maintenance may help preserve smoother results over time.

Sun Spots, Pigmentation & Uneven-Looking Tone

GentleMax Pro Plus® can target selected areas of unwanted pigmentation such as freckles, sun spots, and age spots. Treated pigment may briefly look darker before it gradually flakes or fades, revealing a more even-looking complexion.

If your goals also include overall texture, fine lines, or broader sun damage, we may compare Candela with NOUVADerm laser resurfacing or RF microneedling during your consultation so you can choose the approach that best fits your skin goals.

  • Freckles
  • Sun spots and age spots
  • Selected benign pigmented lesions
  • Discrete areas of uneven-looking pigment
  • Selected photoaging concerns

Your treatment plan is personalized to your skin tone, the area you want to improve, and your overall aesthetic goals.

Visible Redness, Facial Vessels & Selected Veins

GentleMax Pro Plus® can target selected visible vessels and areas of redness by directing laser energy toward the color within the vessel. The wavelength and settings are customized to the size, depth, location, and appearance of the concern.

Depending on the area, some patients see improvement after one visit while others benefit from a series. The goal is a clearer, more even-looking appearance with a plan built around your skin.

  • Diffuse facial redness
  • Visible facial vessels and telangiectasia
  • Selected rosacea-related redness
  • Spider and selected leg veins
  • Angiomas, hemangiomas, and venous lakes

During your consultation, we will look at the vessels or redness you want to improve and explain whether Candela is a good fit.

What Results & Recovery Can
Look Like

Results depend on what you are treating, but one of the advantages of GentleMax Pro Plus® is that it can be used for several different goals.

Laser hair removal: Hair typically becomes slower-growing, finer, and less noticeable as your treatment series progresses.

Pigmentation: Treated spots may briefly darken before gradually fading or flaking.

Redness and vessels: The area may look temporarily flushed or slightly more noticeable before improvement develops.

Clear-nail treatments: Improvement becomes visible as healthier-looking nail grows forward over time.

Recovery varies by treatment, although many patients can return to normal routines quickly. We will explain the expected timeline and aftercare for your specific treatment during your visit.

FAQ

FAQ About Candela GentleMax Pro Plus Treatments

What is the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus?

GentleMax Pro Plus® is an advanced dual-wavelength laser platform that combines 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG technology. At Vital Glow, we use it for laser hair removal and selected skin, vascular, wrinkle, and clear-nail concerns.

Having both Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths gives us more flexibility to personalize treatment for different skin tones, hair types, treatment areas, and aesthetic goals.

No. Laser hair removal is one of its most popular uses, but Candela can also be used for selected pigmentation, redness and facial vessels, spider veins, razor bumps, wrinkles, and clear-nail treatments.

Yes. The dual-wavelength platform gives us options for a broad range of skin tones. During your consultation, we choose the wavelength and settings that best fit your skin and hair characteristics.

Laser hair removal is performed as a series because hair grows in cycles. The exact number and timing vary by treatment area and individual response, and we will recommend a schedule during your consultation.

Laser hair removal is designed for long-term hair reduction. Many patients experience substantially less regrowth and easier maintenance after completing a series, with occasional maintenance treatments used when needed.

Most patients describe a quick snap or brief warmth. Candela’s Dynamic Cooling Device™ delivers a cooling burst immediately before the laser pulse to help make treatment more comfortable.

Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™) is Candela’s built-in cooling system. It delivers a brief cooling spray immediately before the laser pulse to help cool the skin and improve comfort during treatment.

Yes. By reducing the coarse hairs that often contribute to razor bumps and ingrown hairs, laser hair removal can make shaving and grooming much easier for many patients.

Selected freckles, sun spots, age spots, and areas of unwanted pigmentation may respond well to Candela treatment. If you have broader texture or sun-damage goals, we can also compare NOUVADerm and RF microneedling.

Yes. GentleMax Pro Plus® can be used for selected visible facial vessels, diffuse redness, and other vascular concerns. We customize the treatment based on the area and the appearance of the vessels.

The Nd:YAG wavelength can be used for selected spider and leg veins. A consultation helps determine whether the vessels you want to improve are a good fit for cosmetic laser treatment.

Yes. GentleMax Pro Plus® can be used to support a temporary increase in clear nail in patients with toenail fungus. Because nails grow slowly, visible improvement develops as new nail grows forward. Learn more about our clear-nail treatment.

For hair removal, avoid waxing or plucking before treatment and shave the area as directed. We will give you simple preparation instructions for your specific treatment before your appointment.

Most patients return to normal routines quickly. Mild temporary redness, warmth, or sensitivity can occur depending on the area treated, and we will give you simple aftercare instructions before you leave.

Yes. A private consultation lets us understand what you want to improve, choose the right Candela treatment approach, and explain the expected timeline before you move forward.

Yes. Cherry and CareCredit financing options are available for eligible Candela laser treatments. Learn more about payment and financing options.
